The Simple Pleasures and Nous Non Plus at Cafe 9 - 9/22/06

I think this was my favorite time seeing The Simple Pleasures. Something about them all being crammed onto that little stage. And there was great energy in the room. Chad was really working to put on show for the people, jumping around with his guitar and sometimes coming out into the audience. Tamara also came out to dance. Don't they know this is New Haven? People don't dance here.

Nous Non Plus are a New York garage band in French drag. They affect French accents and play a couple of songs with a fiddle. Sometimes, it was a bit too much, but closing with a medly of 99 Luftballons and American Girl made it worth it. They also did a Michael Jackson cover that improved on the original. They put on a decent show, but really, how good can a band be when all you have to talk about is the schtick and the covers.
