Now! With camoflage MuuMuus.

IMG_9829
This was my second time seeing them. They seemed a little happier this time around; they did a cover of "I Want to Hold Your Hand."

10/06/07
Melissa Ferrick at The Space:
IMG_0097
She patted me on the shoulder as she left the stage and that made my girlfriend very jealous.

10/12/07
Mark Mulcahy at some church on Whitney Ave.
IMG_0180
He's a weird one, that Mark Mulcahy. He was really on about 1/3 of the time; the rest, he seemed out of his mind.

10/13/07
At the Ely House:
Calvin DeCutlass:

Shandy Lawson:

James Velvet:
IMG_0460
Master songsmiths, all.

10/20/07
Erin McKeown at The Space:
IMG_0614
She was much smaller than anticipated, but her voice and her hair were much bigger.

11/02/07
Shandy Lawson and John Wesley Harding at that same church Mark Mulcahy played at:
IMG_1135
All Harding talked about was his terrible flight.

11/03/07
At The People's Center:
To Bad Catholics:
IMG_1234
Just dorky enough to be charming.

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone:
IMG_1295
His cover of Springsteen's "Philadelphia" was quite good.

11/06/07
At the People's Center:
Peter and Craig:
IMG_1420
A drummer in a frog suit will likely always make me happy.

Murdervan:
IMG_1450IMG_1460
I think I did serious damage to my ears this night. They didn't stop ringing for days.

11/13/07
at Cafe 9:
Ponybird:
IMG_1524
A new hat for Jae, and some singing.

Lys Guillorn:
IMG_1558

11/17/07
at Cafe 9:
Fay Rey:

Eula:
IMG_1669
Eula became one of my favorite bands with this performance.

11/27/07
Mercy Choir at Daniel Street:
IMG_1832

11/29/07
at Cafe 9:
Failure's Art
IMG_1842
I really dug this band. They're out of Danbury, but I hope to see them around here more.

Amnesty Undergound:
IMG_1886
A rare instance of guitar destruction at Cafe 9.

Old Man Lady Luck:
IMG_1953
There is no post-production tomfoolery on this picture, that's all skill (read: luck.)

12/12/07
The last Hard Drive Live at Alchemy:
Soul Reapin III:
IMG_2205

Deuce Frehley:
IMG_2253
Note sound guy reading in the back.

Nasty Disaster:
IMG_2275

12/14/07
Bloarzeyd at Cafe 9:
IMG_2357
He broke a bass string.
Don't you think he looks a little like Ian MacKaye?

12/20/07
Suicide Dolls at Cafe 9:
IMG_2653

12/23/07
at Bar:
Kimono Draggin':
IMG_2772
They sounded great through those giant dance club speakers.

Old Man Lady Luck:
IMG_2719
They're only supposed to play once a year, but they fucked up.

1/01/08
Leila Crockett's going-away show at Cafe 9. I was happy that we all showed her the appropriate love.

Three weeks later.

1/31/08
Frank Critelli, Ray Neal and Chris Buskey at Neverending Books
IMG_3236
It's tough to get a good shot when it's dark and everybody's moving.

2/09/08
at ArLow
Mercy Choir:
IMG_3279
Seen reflected in the window, this was Christian Laursen's last show with the band.

Mercy Meadows:
IMG_3292
Who would have thought this down-home rootsy stuff would go over with the art crowd? The place was packed.

2/28/08
At Songs from the Sofa, at Books and Company:
Paul Belbusti:
IMG_3355

Chris Buskey and Frank Critelli:
IMG_3396
Everybody was sick except for Buskey.

Chris Buskey:
IMG_3451
The story goes, it was my Dream Bill. I said I wanted to see it and Frank made it happen. The one detail that didn't come true is they didn't play electric. I want to hear more of their wacky noisemakers. I guess that means they'll have to play together again.

3/16/08
Eula at the People's Center:
IMG_3783
This was the first time in my life I ever wore earplugs to a show. It was hard, but it hurt too much last time I went.
